Make an A+ School Scrapbook
Sponsored LinksMaking a school scrapbook is a superb idea and a hot subject for many scrapbooking fans. This is probably because most people’s college years helped define them into the individual they are right now through all the drama, events, pals, awards and punishments.
With school being such a fundamental part of what shaped you to be the person you are today, it’s important that you capture those feelings in your album. On top of this, many faculties send parents many great scrapbooking materials, on a nearly weekly basis.
Firstly, most schools have a newsletter that gets sent out on a consistent basis. If there is a important event that went on in class, it will be covered in the newsletter. New buildings, huge awards and sport teams winning will always be covered in newsletters. So be certain to cling to them for your school scrapbook.
School diaries are also another good source of material. In them you may find lists of homework, notices from teachers to parents, your ( or your child’s ) doodles and scribbles and so on. Skipping through the pages will yield some things that you will definitely wish to put into your book.
At about that point its important to note that school is not invariably high grades and success, at some point almost everybody has gotten a bad grade (or heaven forbid, a large amount of bad grades), detentions or notes home to parents. Don’t leave these out! Some scrapbookers only need to remember the fun times and look at their recollections through rose coloured glasses, but you will only truly capture the ups and downs of your school years if you include the bad times with the good. It’ll add a providence to your school scrapbook that is tough to capture.
Pictures are your next stop. Its around school age that people begin to get snap happy. Take your photo albums, blow the dust off and go through them. You will find some pics of you (or your youngsters) in a school uniform and heaps of ones with college mates in them. To mix it up a little , if you have pictures of them now, put them both in your book as a image of then vs now.
Last though not least, remember to add in any awards that you or you children might have won. Whether its a sporting victory, maths competition, spelling bee, science award – or even just when you got a gold star on your homework, add it into your school scrapbook. Ensure that you celebrate both the highs and lows.
When your book is complete, it should be a colourful celebration of your great and not so great moments. A true testament of what made you the individual you are today!
And as usual, happy scrapping.
